Immersed
in the verdant Umbrian countryside, thirty-six kilometres from the border
with Tuscany, the interior of this lovely farmhouse built in stone and
recently renovated, preserves intact the typical charm of its rural
surroundings, typified by the splendid wooden beams on the ceiling.
Ginestra, whose name recalls the beautiful broom plant with its brigh
yellow flower found in abundance in this area, stands on the top of
a hill sloping gently towards other hills in the distance, and overlooks
a splendid and extensive valley. The swimming pool gets the best of
the sun and enjoys a magnificent view. Outside the house the verandah,
equipped with a table and twelve chairs and a barbecue, is ideal for
eating al fresco. Ginestra lies along the country road leading to Umbertide,
a delightful ancient town with supermarkets and facilities of all kinds.
The area around Ginestra offers a number of tourist attractions of both
environmental and cultural interest. The surrounding countryside is
particularly beautiful and from spring to the end of summer Umbertide,
Città di Castello, Cortona and Gubbio, all nearby centres of
artistic and historical interest, play host to a variety of film, artistic
and musical events. The layout of the villa is perfect for a group who
wish to have their own privacy as it offers two different and independent
areas.
